Trip to Huddersfield Uni

On Tues 25th May, We went on a trip to Huddersfield Uni for a Acceptance agreement signing what this basiccaly means is that if we get the correct amount of Ucas Points in this case 280 and we apply for Huddersfield at asuitable date they will revserve us a place and we will be immediatly accepted.

We saw Huddersfield in-house studio Canalside which has done the Xbox Live Arcade game Yo-ho Kablamoo other games we saw were from the Royal Armouries. I played one of the games they had on display it was called Champions it was in the style of Street Fighter but with a suit of armour from the museum itself.

The level of work was pretty advanced as such work we saw was 3D models with very high levels of detail. The students who were working on a new game had multiple 3D programs such as Maya and 3D StudioMax.

The special event they had going on was GameRepublic it was fourth year Uni students from Unis in the surronding area they were showcasing projects which they have done. There were people form the games industry that came in to judge them there were people from Team 17, Rockstar Leeds and Sony.

Huddersfield had special, exclusive equipment given to them by Sony which helped filter 3D shapes and objects so it can be viewed without any medical side effects. Also they had equipment which made a whole room interactive it was called Live Lab. They use motion projecters so a user can interact with many objects.

I would definitley choose Huddersfield as one of my choices as the quality of the course seems really genuine and also it is very accessible form where I live so I don't have to move away from home to go.
